I used to be out whenever the weather allowed, seeing as per the 80x20 rule, I enjoyed terrestrial views of sealife and scenery.
I needed a light weight, portable equipment. My observing site is in a light polluted roof(streetlights).
I purchased a Bresser Pirsch 4334500 25-75 x 100 Spotting Scope (Black) and mounted it on a FOCUS photograph tripod. The spotting system worked quite well.
Focusing the system to the night sky, I got fantastic celestial views of the Moon, planets, and some bright deep-sky objects. Then, my list of favorite seeing objects changed to 50x50.
I like:
1. Good for nighttime stargazing and viewing heavenly body and planets located close to earth. When conditions are suitable, I spot the Saturn's rings and the Jupiter's Galilean moons.
2. The zoom eyepiece is sufficient for viewing distant images quite clearly. I seldom allows powers above 50x except on the Moon.
3. The focuser is smooth and easier to come to focus at high powers.
4. Easier to use for viewing above the horizon (close-in observing at tree-top level or for celestial observation)
5. Does not require a tall tripod, stability is a factor here.
6. The extendable sunshade avoids any interference with the working of the scope due to the glaring sun
7. Price.
I do not like:
1. No finder scope nor heavy mount/tripod for long comfortable stargazing sessions.
